Sir Peter Blake is the instantly recognisable contemporary British Artist best known for his work creating the cover of the iconic Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. A key member of the pop art movement of the 1950's and 1960's Sir Peter Blake's art has stood the test of time and he is still one of the most-sought-after artists in the UK.
Born in Dartford on June 25th, 1932, Blake began his journey into art by studying at Gravesend School of Art and later the Royal College of Art. He became a royal academician in 1981 and was knighted in 2002 at Buckingham Palace for his services to art. Sir Peter Blake's artwork past has consisted of sculptures, paintings, printmaking and more.
