Alison Johnson

Alison Johnson

Alison Johnson is an artist known for her dynamic and vibrant seascapes, capturing the physical energy of the natural landscape. Her art is inspired by the wild, rugged coastlines and focuses on how the changing light interacts with the water and rocky surfaces of the scene, resulting in the more abstracted qualities of the natural landscape being predominant, with the atmosphere being the most important aspect of her paintings.

Her paintings are ephemeral, powerful and evocative, achieving a strong sense of movement through color, light and texture. Her work is compared to the dramatic, turbulent seascapes of British Romantic artist J.M.W Turner, but with a contemporary approach to the British coastlines and a varied and rich contemporary color palette.

If you're looking for an artwork that captures the beauty and energy of coastal landscapes, then Alison Johnson's paintings are a must-see.

Visit the Watergate Street Gallery to see her full collection of seascapes and to find out more about the artist.
